Job Description

Western Engineering Co Inc is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Asphalt Paving Crew Members to join our dedicated paving team. As an essential part of our crew, you will play a vital role in the construction of asphalt roads and highways. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of equipment and roadways for paving, organization and dumping of trucks during the paving process and clean-up at days end. We are looking for individuals who are team-oriented, safety-conscious, and willing to learn on the job. Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and operation of paving equipment and tools
• Prepare the work site by cleaning roadway surfaces, and assisting with the installation of necessary components
• Coordination and dumping of asphalt trucks and collection of tickets
• Work alongside experienced crew members to learn best practices and improve skills in asphalt paving
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and procedures
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and operations
• Participate in training sessions and safety meetings as required.

Requirements

• No prior experience in asphalt paving is required, but it is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced crew members
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to changing weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety on the job site
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labor as required
• Physical ability to stand and walk extensively as required
• Team-oriented with good communication skills
• Willingness to travel as required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Pass pre-employment drug screening.
