Job Description

Connect Staffing is hiring an experienced MIG Welder for a metal products manufacturing facility in Los Alamitos, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $25.00–$29.00/hr on a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime available. In this role, you will MIG weld joints on carbon steel floor grates and operate a metal cutting machine to cut grates to size and specification. This is a steady, slow-paced production environment with consistent weekly hours and regular overtime opportunity.

Pay: $25.00–$29.00/hr

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm; some Saturdays required; shifts up to 10 hours

Location: Los Alamitos, CA 90720

Responsibilities

• MIG (GMAW) weld joints on carbon steel floor grates and related metal products.
• Operate a metal cutting machine to cut grates to size and specification.
• Measure and mark materials accurately using a tape measure.
• Read and follow basic drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and consistency against production standards.
• Follow work instructions and maintain organized workstation between operations.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of MIG (GMAW) welding experience on carbon steel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting basic shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience operating metal cutting, shearing, or fabrication machinery.
• Background in a production or high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with metal grating, wire mesh, fencing, or structural steel products.
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

Pre-Employment Requirements
