Job Description

Oritain is the global leader in product origin verification, with locations in Auckland, Dunedin, London, Singapore and Washington D.C.

We sit at the intersection of forensic science and supply chain technology, harnessing science and data to verify the genuine origin of materials across the world's most critical commodities. Our mission is to protect people and the planet by ensuring transparency and integrity in global supply chains.

As we deepen our presence in the U.S. federal market, we are seeking a Vice President, DoW Sales & Delivery to lead our expansion into the Department of Defence and Federal Government sector from our Washington D.C. office.

About the Role

This is a pivotal role at the intersection of government engagement, federal capture strategy and program delivery. Reporting to the Chief Government Affairs Officer, Americas, with a dotted line into the SVP Sales Americas & Global AI Sales Transformation, the Vice President will build the strategic relationships, shape the high-impact opportunities and convert complex pursuits into long-term partnerships and contracted growth that establish Oritain as a trusted and innovative partner to the defense community.

From early opportunity shaping through proposal development, contract award and delivery execution, you will bring commercial leadership and deep familiarity with the DoD contracting environment. Success in this role requires credibility, strategic influence and the confidence to navigate complex federal environments with discipline and vision.

For someone who understands how to build and win in the federal space and wants to do it for a company with genuine mission alignment to national security and supply chain integrity, this is a rare and compelling opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

You will own and manage the federal opportunity pipeline from qualified opportunity through contract award, ensuring disciplined progression, accurate forecasting and timely conversion. You will develop and execute capture strategies for priority opportunities, including stakeholder mapping, Pentagon engagement, competitive positioning, teaming strategies and opportunity shaping, and build and maintain trusted relationships with DoD stakeholders, contracting offices, program offices, prime contractors and acquisition decision-makers.

You will lead proposal planning and development activities, translating capture strategy into compelling, compliant submissions that align technical, commercial and customer requirements, and coordinate cross-functional inputs across technical, legal, finance, operations and commercial teams throughout. You will support contract negotiations and award execution, maintain deep working knowledge of federal contracting processes, acquisition pathways and applicable regulatory frameworks including FAR and DFARS, and implement and continuously improve federal pipeline governance, tracking and forecasting disciplines.

Post-award, you will lead successful execution of contracted programs against scope, schedule, milestones and customer expectations. You will maintain strong engagement with Contracting Officer Representatives, program stakeholders and delivery partners, and identify and shape follow-on opportunities including task orders, adjacent programs, recompetes and account expansion based on delivery performance and evolving customer needs. You will also support project management of ongoing BAA Phase II efforts and related government-funded initiatives, and partner with Sales leadership to align federal forecasting, reporting cadence and messaging with broader company sales operations.

Skills & Experience

You bring significant experience leading sales, capture or business development activities within the U.S. Federal Government and/or Department of Defense environment, with a demonstrated track record of shaping, progressing and winning complex federal opportunities across full government contracting lifecycles.

You have deep familiarity with FAR, DFARS, federal acquisition processes and contract vehicles including IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, OTAs and BAAs, and proven experience managing capture strategy, proposal development and customer engagement within structured federal procurement environments. You are highly organised in opportunity management and forecasting, with strong working knowledge of CRM and sales reporting tools.

You bring strong commercial and strategic judgement with the credibility to engage confidently with senior government, military and industry stakeholders, and the ability to operate effectively across legal, technical, finance, operations and commercial teams. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required.
